Description
UWB (Ultra Wide Band) unit is a device that integrates the UWB communication protocol for locating objects and determining their position and orientation. It utilizes nanosecond pulses for precise positioning. The unit is built around the Ai-ThinkerBU01 Transceiver module, which is based on Decawave's DW1000 design.
The UWB unit incorporates an internal STM32 chip, which includes an integrated ranging algorithm. This algorithm enables the unit to achieve a positioning accuracy of 10cm. The unit also supports AT command control, allowing for easy configuration and interaction.
One of the primary applications of the UWB unit is indoor wireless tracking and range finding of assets. It achieves this by triangulating the position of the base stations and tags. The base station devices resolve the position information and transmit it to the tag device.
It's important to note that the current firmware of the UWB unit only supports the transmission of ranging information. It does not support the transmission of custom information at this time. The unit allows for the configuration of up to four base station devices with different IDs. However, only a single tag device can operate simultaneously.
