Thermal2 UNIT is a thermal camera imaging acquisition unit that incorporates an MLX90640 thermal sensor and a data processing microcontroller unit (MCU). The thermal sensor has 32x24 imaging pixels, providing a detailed thermal image. It offers a wide field of view of 110°x75°, allowing for comprehensive temperature monitoring.
The MLX90640 thermal sensor has a temperature measurement range of -40°C to 300°C, enabling accurate temperature readings across a broad spectrum. The MCU, powered by the ESP32, handles data processing tasks, allowing for various temperature-related functionalities. The MCU's capabilities include high and low temperature alarms, which can be set to trigger notifications when predefined thresholds are exceeded. The unit also supports reading average, maximum, and minimum temperature values, providing comprehensive data analysis options. Additionally, the MCU enables data caching, allowing for the storage of temperature data for further analysis or monitoring.
The board of the Thermal2 UNIT integrates a buzzer, RGB indicator, function button, and reset button, providing convenient control and interaction with the unit. The communication between the unit and the host computer is facilitated through the I2C protocol, ensuring seamless integration into existing systems. Thermal2 UNIT can be used in conjunction with a host computer or as a standalone device, offering flexibility in its application.

Although small, once properly configured with the stickplusC, it works very well. Finding the right firmware was a pain but now iam happy. Playing with the code allow to change the colors palette to red yellow and blue but the gray scale is almost perfect. Waiting for a bigger screen
