Tab5 Smart IoT Terminal Development Platform
The Tab5 is a highly expandable, portable smart IoT terminal designed for developers, integrating a dual-core architecture and rich hardware resources. It is built around the ESP32-P4 SoC based on the RISC-V architecture, featuring 16MB Flash and 32MB PSRAM for high-performance application development.
Dual-SoC Architecture with Wi-Fi 6
Wireless connectivity is powered by the ESP32-C6-MINI-1U, supporting Wi-Fi 6 for high data throughput and low-latency communication. The antenna system supports flexible switching between a built-in 3D antenna and an external MMCX antenna, ensuring reliable performance across diverse deployment environments.
HD Touch Display & Camera for Edge AI
The Tab5 features a 5-inch 1280×720 IPS touchscreen with an MIPI-DSI interface, delivering smooth visuals and responsive touch interaction. A built-in SC2356 2MP camera (1600×1200) using an MIPI-CSI interface supports HD video capture, image processing, and edge AI applications such as facial recognition and object tracking.
Comprehensive Peripheral & Industrial Interfaces
Rich peripheral connectivity includes USB Type-A (Host) and USB Type-C (USB 2.0 OTG) for keyboards, mice, and external devices. Industrial applications are supported through RS-485 (SIT3088 with switchable 120Ω termination).
Expansion options include HY2.0-4P, M5-Bus, GPIO_EXT headers, a microSD card slot, and reserved STAMP pads for communication modules such as Cat-M, NB-IoT, and LoRaWAN. Dedicated Reset and Boot buttons enable fast system reset and firmware download.
High-Fidelity Audio & Motion Sensing
Audio capabilities include an ES8388 audio codec combined with an ES7210 AEC front-end, a dual-microphone array, onboard speaker, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, supporting Hi-Fi audio playback, recording, and accurate voice recognition.
Motion detection is handled by a BMI270 6-axis IMU (accelerometer + gyroscope) with interrupt-based wake-up, allowing the MCU to respond instantly in motion-triggered and low-power scenarios.
RTC & Advanced Power Management
The Tab5 integrates an RX8130CE real-time clock (RTC) with timed interrupt wake-up for precise timekeeping. Power is supplied via a removable NP-F550 Li-ion battery, supported by an MP4560 buck-boost converter, IP2326 charging management, and INA226 real-time power monitoring for stable and reliable standalone operation.
Flexible Mounting Design
A built-in 1/4″-20 tripod nut on the side allows direct mounting to tripods, brackets, or industrial fixtures, making deployment fast and secure.
Application Scenarios
The Tab5 is ideal for smart home control, remote monitoring, industrial automation, IoT prototyping, and education. It provides a full-featured, high-performance, and easily expandable platform for modern IoT and edge computing solutions.
