Description

Atom Socket is a smart power socket compatible with the ATOM controller. It features the HLW8032 high-precision energy metering IC, which allows reading of electrical parameters (line voltage, current, active power, apparent power, and power factor) via serial communication. The external socket adopts Japanese standards, and the internal integrated single-channel relay (AC 100 ~ 120V@10A) controls the power on/off. Paired with the ATOM controller integrated with a WIFI module, this power socket can easily connect to the network, enabling remote control and energy metering. Additionally, the socket integrates a HY2.0-4P interface for interaction with external devices (relay signal input, button signal output).

Features

  • Single-channel relay control for power on/off (AC:100~120V@10A)
  • HLW8032 high-precision energy metering IC
  • Supports voltage and current detection, power calculation, with a dynamic range of 1000:1:
    • Active power measurement error: 0.2%
    • Effective current measurement error: 0.5%
    • Effective voltage measurement error: 0.5%
  • UART communication (baud:4800)
  • Σ-Δ type ADC, high-precision energy metering core
  • Japanese/American standard socket - PSE standard
  • HY2.0-4P external control interface

ATOM Socket works great with my M5Atom code base

Our adaptable ESP32 framework is working great across entire M5 family, supporting
Bluetooth and MQTT WIFI - with OTA updates, setting credentials, cloud computing, etc. With the Socket Kit, a MQTT message can turn on/off devices. See more at SemanticMarker.org. NOTE: the only issue I have is when the Socket gets or cycles power, the M5Atom isn't invoked yet - so the persistent state might be OFF but the light will flicker on first. I don't know how to turn that off (Same with the H-Driver by the way). But the M5 interchangeable products are very impressive in such small sizes.

Nice replacement for third party AC power controllers

My needs were quite simple , being able to toggle power on and off from a rasp pi python app. Using MQTT this was easily accomplished. I am not using the v/a monitoring at this time. Bought two more for future tasks.

Great Device need more documentation/Arduino support

a lot of hardware is not supported by arduino by default or libraries don't exists would love to see more community work. i love the hardware you sell but more support of the chipsets would be great.

It is a good product, though I would not recommend it for beginners.

It is a useful product to keep track of power consumption, although it is up to the user to create their own firmware. Be careful when creating the application, as the buttons may work unexpectedly due to GPIO39 issues.
